English For All
Worked towards educational equity by providing students in need with access to essential resources that facilitated learning of the english language.
Indian students in rural areas often do not receive a good quality of education and are unable to receive good employment opportunities because of their bad English skills. In the modern world, English has become a necessity to be able to attain good employment.
To help support the learning of these students, I along with my support from my mother, distributed English storybooks and notebooks and provided them with a methodology to learn English through writing down word meanings and reading through them daily. I held a session with the students about the importance of learning English and its role in allowing for communication across borders.
To further motivate the students, I held a competition to test their reading ability and provided awards that facilitated their learning including stationery kits to winners to incentivise learning.
